The hairs of Royal Sable are thicker than pure red sable which provides added strength and snap. Brushes may be used with any viscocity of paint, and are versatile enough to be used for a variety of mediums from acrylics to varnishes.

These are the very BEST brushes ever for either oils or acrylic. I have give several to my artist friends and they agree. The brushes are great for glazing, scumbeling, applying thin fine layers, slathering it on, and mantin a chiseled edge to the very end. They are not easy to find and I was excited to find that not only do you have them, but you have them in all sizes! I am really inspired now that I have a supply of my favorite tools. I like to keep enough in inventory that I always have what I need and so that I can give one to a friend to introduce them to these great brushes.

I do a lot of tiny detail work in my oil paintings and the small Royal Sables are great for this. I also like the larger sizes for various other blending I do. These are even better than the small Hakes.

I use these brushes when painting on saw blades. Painting on saw blades is different than painting on canvas, the paint lies on top of the metal and does get absorbed as on canvas. These are the best brushes I've found to work for this type of painting, and they keep a real sharp edge.

This brush is the ultimate brush - so much so that I waited for months for it to be in stock. I need another one now and I tried to buy one and it is out of stock again. So, again, I am anxiously awaiting a restock so I can order this brush.
