Spun Bond Non-woven Fabric

by Lutradur

Top Rated

Lutradur is a non-woven polyester fabric that is well suited as an art medium. It's lightweight, delicate, and flexible, yet very strong. Lutradur has an open structure and accepts paint, ink, and other media and is delicate enough to filter light.

Due to the random structure of the spun bond fibers, you can create interesting surface textures. Lutradur can be heat set at 300 degrees F.

It can be laminated and lends itself as a sculptural medium due to the simplicity of its structure, color, and presentation.

Decorate it with paint or dye and use it as wrapping paper or to wrap bunches of fresh flowers. Run it through an inkjet printer. Use it as an alternative to canvas. Silk screen on it. Glue it. Cut it--it won't fray. Also used in quilting and other fiber and textile art. It has almost limitless applications.

Lutradur is 72 in. wide and sold by the linear yard. Shipped lightly folded.

This is a fun product to play with. You can paint it, sew it, stitch it, stamp it, burn it, etc. Lots of possibilities with it. This will not ravel when you cut it. It is lightweight enough to see through, but very durable. Try it.

I'm still discovering all the things Lutradur can do. I love to paint and stitch on it, and etch it with a heat tool. It's durability makes it sturdy enough to go right through my inkjet printer.

I love this stuff. I learned to paint Lutradur in a fabric book class, and have since made two more books. It takes paint (Golden Fluid Acrylics) extremely well. I have also done image transfers onto it, sewn it, and burnt the edges of it for a torn look. Love this stuff!!!

I think Lutradur is a miracle material - the perfect bridge between fabric and paper. I use it for books, quilts, structures, paints, dyes, stenciling and more. With each order I discover a new use for it.

If you love to experiment then Lutradur is for you. I paint it with a variety of fabric and silk paints and liquid acrylics then layer it on top of several layers of netting and tulle on a woven fabric and batting base. I randomly sew all the layers together and then use a heat gun to melt through the layers. More free machine embroidery follows and further embellishment with beads and whatever to complete a piece.

Love this Lutradur stuff! It is so easy and fun to work with, and takes a transparent paint so beautifully. I made a hand-made book with Lutradur as a cover ... yummy.

I purchased Lutradur so that I could make tree branches for a mixed media wallhanging. It took acrylic paint very nicely. Rather than cutting it into branch shapes, I burned it with a soldering iron... sealed the edges and looked quite organic.

Lutradur is a wonderful fabric - I've painted it, stitched it and added foil to it. It's great!

Am finding this product to be one of many uses...you can paint on it...embellish on it, use it for a pattern, use it for a stablizer...it is a product of many uses...I feel that the more I use it the more I will discover what it can do.
