Red Label Stretched Cotton Canvas

Red Label pre-stretched canvases are made with medium weight, medium texture cotton duck. They are acrylic titanium primed, acid free acrylic gesso double primed, and they provide the perfect support for both oils and acrylics.

All sizes 24 in. x 36 in. and larger include single or double bracing for added support. All sizes up to 6 in. x 8 in. are 1/2 in. deep. All others are 11/16 in. deep.

Red Label Stretched Cotton Canvases up to 8 in. x 8 in. are stapled on sides. Sizes 8 in. x 10 in. and larger are stapled on the back.

I really like the Fredrix Red Label cotton canvas. I find that the canvas holds it shape very well and doesn't become loose on the stretcher bars.

I love this brand. I have tried several other brands and these are the best. I use the red for oils and the blue for acrylic and oil. I just wish the blue label came in 10x10 like the red label.

Quality of canvas and preparation is great as always, however the stretcher bars are now spliced instead of one solid piece of wood. I have had to replace several stretcher bars after the painting was finished due to the decreased strength.

I don't like this one as much as the others because of the staples but for the price and when painting will be framed and the sides won't show it is a good deal.

When I buy my stretched canvases I buy a few dozen small ones at a time. Each time the grandchildren come for a stay over they want to paint a gift for someone. I would prefer the staples being in the back but for the cost these are great.

I am a little concerned that the stretcher bars are occasionally spliced instead of one solid piece. On larger canvases this may lead to warped or bent stretchers

For my last painting I took advantage of the 20"x20" canvas. First off, it was really fun to design an image for a square. Secondly, the canvas is a pleasant weave to paint on without losing your strokes in the texture. Thirdly, the canvas was actually stapled on the back of the stretcher.... Great for display.

I love the Fredrix canvases, the red label is good if you want texture, but I favor the blue label canvases which are smoother. They don't drink up as much paint. I put texture in with my brushstrokes.

These canvases are of quite poor quality and I do not recommend them. Cheap as they are, any slight pressure on the center will leave an indentation on your picture plane and ruin your work.

I have an oil painting in progress on an 18 x 36 size now. It is good value for the money. I was pleased to find such an odd size for so little money. The canvas seems a bit slack to me but it is only a minor problem for this project.

I have bought the red label canvases and like the larger ones when the staples are in the back but unhappy with the smaller ones. It's because the staples are on the sides and I may as well get the winsor & newton brand for there are no staples shown and price was a little better. If I had to order the red label again it will be the larger sizes.

I have thus far used three Fredrix Red Label canvases, rather unconventionally, as unframed puzzle mounts. One canvas has a significantly warped edge board which detracted from my project. Otherwise, I am pleased.

Very good buy. cheaper than most other canvases, and it's much cheaper to order them here than buy them from a store. good quality canvas, not too much or too little texture. Wonderful with oils. Texture is not so deep so it does not take away from the brush strokes. Also very good for heavy work.

Very economical canvass espically in the larger sizes. Staples on sides can easily be hidden with a little paint if you are not planning on framing piece. Size is consistant if you are planning a multiple panel piece.

I have ordered the 16 x 20 and the 18 x 24 and both have been high quality. The texture will hold the paint well and for the price it is well worth the money. I have done about 20 or more painting using this brand and I am satisfied with the product.

High quality canvas, fine grain is good for detailed acrylic paintings. Canvas is easy to use for getting straight lines on buildings, No defects, Acrylics bond very well to surface.

This is a great canvas. The only place to purchase any canvas in my area is 60 miles away. In two days these are delivered and I'm busy painting, not to mention the price is so much better. I will be a repeat buyer for years to come.

The canvas is well stretch and well braced. Can take a heavy paint application which is the way I paint without "developing a belly". The texture is good for uses with both oils and acrylic and it has very little compitition at this great price.

These canvases work perfectly as book covers. They have a nice sized niche in which to place items and they accept paint well. The staples are flat enough to cover over. Great product!

These canvases are pretty cheap, but you get what you pay for. For being very inexpensive, they get the job done and are a good deal. Staples are visible on the side. Canvas is not glued or attached at the edge on back and so "hangs free" from the edge to the staple.
