Orton Bars were especially designed to function in the Dawson Kiln Sitter. Same results as small cone centered in Kiln Sitter. The uniform shape makes consistent placement easy without affecting the firing. The novice or beginner will welcome its ease of use, while those practiced in firing will appreciate the consistency. Bars are 1 in. long. Bars 06 through 04 contain iron oxide and organic binders. Uniform shapes allow for consistent placement in Kiln Sitter. Sold in box of 50.

The "Kiln Doctor" I use recommended the bars instead of cones for consistant firing. This little ease of placement feature takes one less worry out of using a kiln sitter. I'll be switching to bars for all of my firings.
