This is not the proper product to correct gel candles. It worked great the first time I used it then it wouldn't come back on at all after that.

Takes quite awhile to heat up. Once hot, the area below the blade is actually hotter than the blade itself. Makes it impossible to make percise cuts in styrofoam.

I like the fact that it uses standard x-acto blades. Works good to cut nylon webbing. cools down fast so you can't doo too many cuts one after the other. Also the point where the plastic handle connects to the iron has cut vents, this weakens the structure and after a while it bends. For the price a really good knife to neatly cut webbing for your tech diving harness. Good also for boat lines and such.
