Is there shrinkage expected with curing / drying?- Asked by Jenny HAll on 30-Oct-12
There is minimal shrinkage when Premier Stone Clay is drying.- Answered by MisterArt on 08-Jan-13
How fragile is the cured compound? Will it hold a nail without cracking?- Asked by Jenny HAll on 30-Oct-12
Activa Premier is exceptionally strong; it can be carved, drilled, and sanded once cured. If you wish to have a nail inserted in the product then insert the nail while the clay is still moist, or drill a hole for your nail once the clay has been cured.- Answered by MisterArt on 08-Jan-13
Can more of the material be added to the cured form in order to modify the final shape?- Asked by Jenny HAll on 30-Oct-12
Yes, raw clay can be added to dried clay.- Answered by MisterArt on 08-Jan-13
Can the material be sanded, ground down, etc?- Asked by Jenny HAll on 30-Oct-12
Yes, this product can be sanded and ground down.- Answered by MisterArt on 08-Jan-13
What is the largest solid form one should fabricate with this material?- Asked by Jenny HAll on 30-Oct-12
This depends on the amount of structure and support given to the form's inner fame. This is a lightweight clay, so it will not weigh too heavily on any armature structure you create for it.- Answered by MisterArt on 08-Jan-13
Is this clay or any of your products suitable as molded cabinet knobs? Is it strong enough to adhere to a knob base and be handled as a cabinet knob or pull?- Asked by Jenny HAll on 30-Oct-12
It might be, but it is meant to be used as art clay. You may wish to consider kiln-fired ceramics for cabinet handles. Since we have not used Premier Stone Clay for an application such as this, we would recommend testing your idea before committing to it.- Answered by MisterArt on 08-Jan-13
