When I ordered these for my 3 year old I expected more of a paintbrush but the tip is very much like a marker. It just has a little more give to it. All in all though, the colors flow very nicely and my son loved how vibrant they were and easy to use. They were a little pricey but I would probably buy them again. I just wish the set came with orange and black.
