This tool is more than a little tricky. It does not cut smoothly, but rather hops and jerks. I have tried very hard to use a variety of techniques, but, like the previous reviewer, have had more success with scissors for outside edges. For filigree detail, a very heavy exacto blade provides a smoother cut.

This tool is easy to use for cutting tin coated pewter foil. it comes with a little bit of rubber on the tip--don't forget to take this off! It smoothly cuts where an exacto is more awkward going around curves. I'm glad I upgraded to this over my exacto.

This tool is a bit tricky to use, and does not always slide over the metal smoothly. I have had better luck using scissors, then smoothing with a file. I only bother with the quirkiness of this tool when cutting out very small, inside areas.
