This Portfolio makes it easy to carry all the necessary accessories and supplies without another bag. The multiple pockets inside are useful for separating watercolor tablets and other paper products along with slim accessories. The retention straps are not designed to hold heavier tablets tight as they are made of weaker elastic but it doesn't bother me as I tend not to use them. The outer pockets are wonderful for stowing paints and water trays that are too large to fit flat inside. And the bottom pocket serves well to hold my brushes. The front pockets aren't very large but they help to keep you from carrying too much. The ability to chose your method of strapping the shoulder strap is rather nice too. (There are 4 places you can hook the strap into.) The padding on the side does work well to help reduce the bumping of the portfolio on the legs. The shoulder pad also works well unless you load too much into the portfolio (but to do so you almost need to load it so that you can barely zip all the closures) The weight of this portfolio with all your supplies in it keeps it a little more sturdy than other portfolios in the wind. It makes it less likely to flail around. All and all I'm satisfied with this product.

Shoulder strap and handle did not hold up with traveling with art supplies and art work daily on the train. Disappointed!
