I paint on walls and ceilings, handpainted decorative work, and this stick helps when painting overhead or in awkward positions on a staging. I had one like this but it was "lost" on a job site. I like the portability and strength of it. My only comment otherwise is that the black rubber tip is NOT non marking on flat paint. That's easy to fix with a bit of cloth or tape though.

I dtarted paint when I was 60 and let me tell you this "little stick" really takes the shakes out of my hands.

I work predominantly in pastels and often smeared the piece inadvertantly when working on a small detail. The Mahl stick is perfect for keeping my palm off the paper. The fact that it comes in three lengths allows me to adjust it to the size of the piece I am working on. It has become indispensable and I carry it everywhere with me.

This is a well-made and hardy mahl stick. It comes in 3 pieces and therefore can be screwed together or not to form 3 different lengths.
