the compass adapter works perfectly, which i expected from koh-i-noor. i had to replace one because the pen i used broke and is no longer manufactured. of course, since the streads on technical pens are not stardard across manufacturers, this was a challenge. i gave this adapter 4 stars out of 5 for two reasons. (1) i would prefer that the plastic part that holds the pen were made of metal, and (2) i would also prefer that the 3.5mm and 4mm posts were two separate parts, and you use the one you want. having both sizes on the same post can be a little problematic depending on the way any particular compass is designed.
