Printers Line Gauges

Gaebel gauges have been made in the U.S.A. for over 55 years using 301 and 410 spring tempered stainless steel.

Series 612 is available in 6 in. and 12 in.. The front has 6 and 12 point increments and inches divided into 16ths, the back has 6 and 12 point and agate increments.

Series 612F is the most popular two sided line gauge and is available in 12 in.,18 in.and 24 in. sizes. The front has inches divided into 16ths and agate lines, the back 6 and 12 point (picas) and point scales.

Series 614 is available in 12 in. size only. The front has 6 and 12 point scales and inches divided into 16ths. The back has 8 and 10 point increments.

We are grateful to Mister Art for carrying the Gaebel gauges; we use them for sizing advertising and copy for our national magazines. I think that the 612F is the most useful version of these line gauges because the inch and pica scales run on the left side of the ruler so if you are right-handed, this provides a more ergonomic and convenient hand position when lining things up. This gauge has inches, picas, points, and agates--4 different ways to find a line that fits under the copy and check its straightness, which is very handy at the press and helps make this the most popular model. Nice price, too.
