I've beena graphic designer for more than 30 years and for most of those years a Gaebel "Ad Agency" ruler has been my constant companion. I bought it in the days when tyesetting galleys and paste-up were the ONLY way to compose a page. Having a sturdy steel scale to guide your blade was very important. Having "real" picas (not IBM picas :)), millimeters, agate scales as well as inches was essential, particularly in publishing where all those systems were in use. The Proofreaders Marks etched in stainless were a bonus that made correcting copy much less painful. When my longtime companion got lost recently I immediately scoured the 'net for another one. Finding it here at MisterArt.com, for a very reasonable price, was a thrill.
