I liked the idea of these pens, but my handwriting does not work with them. I have to hold them almost upside down to get them to work. Even then, they often skip and scape the paper. I suspect that they would be better for lefties who hold their hand either below or above their writing. I hold mine to the left of my writing. I have used calligraphy markers for years, and was surprised to have so much trouble. I will try a regular set before I give up on it.

The Manuscript 3 nib beginners calligraphy set is not just for beginners but for experienced calligraphers as well. Traveling/cruising requires compact packing so this set allows me the luxury of using my calligraphy daily-notes, journals, letters,gift cards, etc. The cartridges are universal because they are easy to purchase particularly all over Europe.

This pen is very dependable and suitable for simply practicing or calligraphing nice projects. It was very hard for me to find a nice left-oblique calligraphy pen, and I am thrilled to have finally found one.

Years ago I had an Osmiroid calligraphic pen which I truly loved. It has a smooth ink flow, wasn't too fat and didn't leak too much ink. Plus it was for left handers. I haven't found a left hand calligraphic pen of this quality in years. It's everything the Osmiroid was; smooth flow, no leakage,not too fat (I don't like a real thick pen), and it's very reasonably priced. This is a great pen and a great value.
