I purchased these for my class to use. Much of our ink dried up and there are no available refill cartridges in many of the colors. I recommend the Steadler set instead.

I thoroughly love this set of pens. I, like the others, enjoy having three inks & pens available at once for different uses & the smoothness of the nibs to paper is awesome! I started using these as a beginner & have several sets of them now to keep different colors & different nibs going at any time as I use them in my business! Great choice!

What a great set!! I love being able to have three different colors flowing at the same time. The only flaw with my set is the broad nib -- the ink just won't flow smoothly from it.

I found this kit had exactly enough tools for a beginner such as myself. I was pleased to have more than one pen to place my ink choices so I don't have to keep switching out.

The pens are excellent. Ink flows well. Colors are beautiful. I did not like the booklet, however. The styles are too dull and similar and there is very little detailed information.

This calligraphy set was for my girlfriend. It was exactly what she was looking for, which is a basic beginners set. It has three pens for different width stokes and an array of ink choices. The only thing I didn't like about the product after she had opened it was the fact that once the ink cartridges were 'opened' they could not be 'closed' again. They would leak if tilted upsidedown. Other than that, it's a great beginners set.

we loved it. It was a gift for my 10yr old son who is very artistic and he loves it. It is very easy to use, no mess with the ink cartridges and with the book he was able to write beautifully by the end of his first sitting. Great product for any age!

I love to do calligraphy. This beginner's set is just what I needed, with all the variety of ink. It is easy to use this set. The instruction booklet gives lots of creative ideas. If you are just a beginner, or have been doing calligraphy for a while, this set is great for any level. Enjoy!

I received a Sheaffer Calligraphy Maxi Kit as a gift from a collegue. I was delighted by the ease and simplicity of using the variety of nibs provided. But, most of all i enjoyed experimenting with the variety of colors provided in the kit. Besides gaining and another skill i can have a lot of fun addressing cards to friends, family and customers. So now i am off to purchase kits for my daughter and two grand-daughters. It is the "Perfect Gift"

I bought this set for my daughter who started a caligraphy class in school this semester. She took them to class the first day and came home to tell me that the teacher said she was jealous and she didn't even have a set of this quality for her own personal use. My daughter loves her pens and uses them all the time, both at home and at school.

This is a very nice set of pens. My 13 year old daughter is very excited. The only thing is the directions do not explain how to take care of the pens very good,as far as how to store the used cartridges. If you already know how then you are all set.

I don't plan to take any calligraphy course, but wanted a smooth unique style to my writing within handmade books, paintings, journaling, and scrapbooking. These pens are a staple in my art box! It is a delight to work with these pens. Excellent choice.

First, I want to thank Sheaffer for making a quality tool/pen with such a low price tag. I bought my "inexpensive" Sheaffer pen kit for purpose of only using it in my training and calligraphy classes. I also bought a "VERY" expensive brand and planned to save it for future serious use. Poor planning on my part (I'm a beginner). First day of class, the instructor recommended Sheaffer pen kits to students. The instructor ALSO uses Sheaffer pens for her very beautiful art projects as well as paid calligraphy jobs (i.e. wedding invitations, etc). Your pens flow so smoothly and with such ease during training. The ink colors are just beautiful (black is a nice deep thick black!). Starving artists thank you for not including greed in your price tag. I will never use another pen! Again, thank you, Sheaffer!

The No-Nonsence pens provide a nice fine line for the up-stroke and a clean broad line for the down-stroke when using the medium broad and B4 nibs. The thin line is not thin enough to make much of a contrast with the fine and extra-fine nibs. They generally feed well without blotting until the cartridge is close to out. When you notice a little too much ink, check the cartridge, if it is nearly out, change it, you are due for a blot on your work. I particulary like the scroll nib that comes with the extra set of nibs. The older version of the No-Nonsense pen without the rubber grip is less prone to leak in the pocket. I think the rubber grip makes too tight a fit on the cap. I e-mailed Sheaffer about this a couple years ago, but they never responded.
