I purchased this pen after using one that belonged to one of my students. Right out of the box it was absolutely perfect. No scratchy edges to fuss with and works every time even when I haven't used it in over a week. The nib is smooth and produces nice variations in line thickness. I will definitely purchase more of these delightful pens.

These pens write great and are reliable, with no skipping. Get the refillable ink cartridge and you can use just about any reasonably good ink. I use Noodler's black which is waterproof and fadeproof with no problems. You can carry it and write or practice your calligraphy anywhere.

Ink flow rate is perfect for the speed of my writing, with nice clean edges on each character. Nib is wonderfully smooth and the shape of the pen fits well in my hand. The ink works well on a variety of of papers, far better than the Schaeffer line with regard to feathering. I wish for a nib that is just a bit smaller but this size works well for my application. At this time it is my favorite pen.

I used the Rotring calligraphy pen that my husband got me for Christmas to address my son's wedding invitations and to make the place cards for the tables. It was smooth, even and always ready to write. It was the 1.1 and I thought it was perfect.

After agreeing to address wedding invitations, I was frantically looking for a quality calligraphy pen. I tried two brands before I gave in and bought the Rotring on the web. WOW!! Even as an amateur I could tell the difference in quality. The other pens felt like they were scratching the paper whereas the Rotring pen felt as smooth as anything. I'm hooked!

I've never done calligraphy, but agreed to hand address 150 invites for my step-daughters wedding. Worried over how to do it, and with what, as I shopped all over town to find the right pen. Rotring calligraphy pens are the best I've ever used. Their quality allows me to forget about the pen, and just enjoy the fun and beauty of calligraphy. Before I started using Rotring pens, calligraphy was kind of a a chore, but now it's actually relaxing.
