I always use NuPastels as my underpainting. With my new set of 96 sticks, I find I can complete a painting with them.

NuPastels were recommended by one of my professers. They are wonderful to work with and do not create lots of extra dust as some other brands do. Thanks to misterart, these pastels are affordable and are delievered within a matter of a couple of days.

I don't remember exactly how many I got either 24 or 48. No matter what the color selection is awesome but I wish there were more selections of pinks and purples. They look great on paper.

I have purchased four sets of the 96 color pastels. They are the perfect gift for anyone with any interest in art. I each case the magnificent colors and flexability of the sticks has inspired the person receiving them. My 5 year old granddaughter uses them every day, the colors inspiring her to crete color fantasies. This is a great product and the price is unbeatable.

NuPastels are great pastels to work with -- as a note, the "portrait" set bought here is the same as the standard 24-piece set. An excellent product, but the set does not have a large number of skintones.

Ok gonna say it no egg throwing. I hate having to wear gloves and I think for the price they could come with some sort of protective coating on them we could peel back to make them easier to use. Even if you don't have sensitive skin you have to admit it would make them a lot nicer. Other than that they do what they're supposed too and are fun to work with :-)

Nupastels are necessary part of any pastellist's palette when sharp edges, line work and close detail are involved. They blend well with all types of soft pastel sticks.

The first time I ordered Nupastels I was intreged because of its low cost. But much to my delight these are now the product I use most. I have two other sets of soft pastels ,which I payed a much higher price for, that I never use. Nupastels are smooth but sharp, and vibrent but blend beautifuly. They can make a hard line like a pencil and blend like handmade soft pastels. The colors are bright and don't lose their intensity upon blending. I use them on dark pastel paper frequently with amazing results. I currently have a set of 36 and it is by far the most valuable purchase of any art product I have made.

I have used Nupastel stix for 15 years. They are a medium hard pastel stick, making them more versatile than the softer pastels. They are consistently of fine quality, offer ease in blending and layering, and enable the artist to do fine detail work that you cannot achieve with a softer stick. They work as well as the fine pastel pencils, and are much more reasonably priced. I highly recommend these for the beginner, because of their versatile uses.

MisterArt's price on the NuPastel was the best out there. The set was delivered very quickly and was of course professionaly packaged. What more can you ask?
