These sticks are fantastic! In my business you need reliable and brilliant colors that are water soluable and ready to use without "dry time". These fill that role with flying colors! They are so inexpensive, last a very long time and are easy to store.

I use them to add drawn line-work to my watercolors & acrylics and to loosen up my 'autographic' hand. My students & I love them and could not do without them. They are more diverse and economical to use than any watercolor pencil.

I think that the pastels themselves are great. I think what would be tremendously helpful would be to have more accurate color swatches for the crayons so that you know what your going to get. I recently purchased the color beige and it looked nothing like the color that was presented on the web site. I wouldn't even call it an "approximate" color. I think this kind of change would be greatly appreciated.

Bought these for my niece who loves to draw and whom I'd already given a beautiful set of Caran D'Ache watercolor pencils to. She loved them and was amazed, as we all were, at how effortlessly the crayon markings were transformed by just a wet brush. I was concerned that they would partially dissolve in her hands (she's 8) but they kept their shape and didn't overly transfer color onto her fingers until wetted down. Colors blended instantly with muddying up. She was thrilled.

I take these along when I travel with a journal for sketching. If you prefer a painted look, all you need is to take the brushes that have the water resevor in the handle. Or, you can wait & add the water with brush, at a later time. They cover well, and since there is no wood, no waste. The colours can be blended well so the possibilities are endless. Get some & just play. You will be amazed at their versitility. Also, as an added bonus, there is no need for fixative.

I was introduced to these crayons in a drawing class at college. I am now hooked on them. They can be used wet like a watercolor or dry. They can be layered and then smudged to blend the colors. You do not have to worry about them drying out and they seem to last for a long time. They are odorless. If you use them wet you can layer them with acrylics. They are a unique medium.

These crayons are a real delight to students who have become familiar and perhaps bored with wax crayons. Color onto watercolor paper. Apply a wet brush to colored areas and watch intense colors appear on the paper like magic. Loaded with pigment,the colors are intense enough for the professional artist. Even young students can understand color theory with these in hand. They blend beautifully, just like traditional watercolors. These are a great bridge between crayons and painting media.

These watercolor crayons are an excellent tool for K-6th grade. I teach a homeschool art class every Thursday and the kids absolutely love these!! They are amazed to watch them turn from crayon to watercolor paint. They're not messy either. Only problem I had was in buying from the loose stock, some came broken.
