my particular box was very difficult to release the sticks as they are very fragile. But they "lay down" great and are terriffic colors. Wiggle the sticks a little before trying to get them out of the container.A good buy!

I especially like the choice of 32 half pastels. I get more color without the bulk. Both this set and the 24 count, are good value for students.
