This is a nice set of pencils for the price. The "leads" are a bit harder than some of the other brands of water color pencils on the market so they handle more like a conventional colored pencil. The washes are more delicate but they are also very workable. This is a great pencil using when you want to alternate a wash with dry detail.

These pencils are great to use. I use them dry and get what some people tell me "looks like an oil painting". I love them, wish Reeves had larger sets.
