I'am retired and decided to take up pencil drawing. I had some older color pencils but I decided to purshase the 72 Derwent color pencils. I find these pencils the best of all I tried. And they are easily sharpened to a point.

These are terrific pencils. I've used them in my work for a number of years. Great for detail work and for drawing too. This company makes good, quality stuff.

I have many brands of colored pencils that are good for many different things, such as Bruynzeel and Prismacolor. Now I own a set of the Derwent studios and really love their qualities! The hexigonal shape I like better than their "Artist" series. And also the subtle quality of hue ability in shading I use these pencils when I want detail such as a portrait or even landscapes. They have just the right hardness. I just wish they would include more than one white pencil in these sets!

I have used Dewent studio pencils for over 10 years. They are by far the best made ever! Their colors stay true for years, both in pencil form and on paper. They are hard yet easily blended. The color layers easily on any type of paper. They also blend well with "Verithin" colors as well. Hands down, my all time favorite colors to use!

By far the best colored pencils money can buy. The colors blend beautifully, and the pencils hold a point better than any other I have tried yet still glide smoothly onto the page. Highly recommended.

Ditto what the first reviewer said, and i also LOVE that the pencils are layed (laid?) out flat in their box...makes it very easy to find the color you want (unlike Prismacolor where a pencil,over time, becomes short and becomes hard to find in its box.)
