The "Imperial" is probably the best of the Hunt product line for life sketching. Insofar as dip steel-quill nibs go, it has some outstanding characteristics. They are: good spring, flow and durability. Remember to clean off the protective shellac coating before you use it for the first time by boiling in water or using a flame, otherwise your early efforts in the medium may prove frustrating.

My favorite point. I draw on smooth papers and find I can get a nice line with this nib. It lasts pretty long, and can even be sharpened a bit with a razor blade.

These nibs are the best for the copperplate style of calligraphy. Depending on the pressure you place upon the nib, you can easily form beautiful letters and accent them with thin flourishes.
