excellent products, these ArtPens from Rotring. makes a reliably consistent line, and holds up well to abuse (better than rapidographs). my only complaint is that rapidograph is ink denser and darker than artpen cartidges. i am not sure why, though it might have to do with ink flow. the artpen works readily, even after long stints of non-use; rapidographs need constant use to keep the ink flowing. all in all, a great, convenient, and handy product.

Great black ink, smooth-flowing, never leaks out icky blobs. And a box of these cartridges fits neatly in my ArtPen Nib and Pen Box, along with many nibs and at least four penholders so I'm all set to go. Another reviewer said that this ink was not waterproof, so that is disappointing but it hasn't proved an issue for me yet.

Rotring products are the best I've ever used. I can't imagine doing a calligraphy job without my Rotring Art Pens and Rotring Ink Cartridges.

this is the ink that i use in rotring's sketching pen. it's a good black ink. the flow is perfect, and it's always a good dark line, without skips or running out of ink mid-line. however, there are problems inherent in such inks. for one it isn't water proof, so you'll need to get a fixative if you plan or working on top of it in any watercolor or washes. and it's also on the slow side drying (slow being a relative measure) you'll need to be careful after making a line for about twenty seconds or so. dragging your hand over an image or erasing pencil lines before the ink can cure could ruin all of your hard work.

I have used Rotring pens for years. I carry them with me everywhere. The sketching pens work smoothly and consistently. My only reservation is that I can find no statement about the permanence/lightfastness of the inks. If this were supplied I would upgrade the rating to best.

VERY DARK BLACK INK, WORKS WONDERFUL IN THE ROTRING ART PENS. DOESN'T SKIP, AND FLOWS EVENELY. I DON'T KNOW WHAT I WOULD DO WITHOUT IT. I AM HOOKED ON THE ROTRING PRODUCTS.

A friend introduced me to rotring pens and I won't use anything else for inking. The ink flows so cleanly and smooth, it's a must have.

The cartridges work fine. I lke the ink because it is not waterproof, and threfore I can create watercolor effects with it when I want. It is particularly good for this. And, the black ink is really black.
