Doesn't crumble like other brands. It's worth the $ as it lasts longer than others. The sturdy carrier prevents chalk breakage.

I ordered the chalk for my daughter's Little Tikes easel. It has a plastic blackboard on one side. The chalk is soft enough to make a nice line, and fat enough for my two-year old's chubby hands. She threw several pieces on the floor, of course, and they broke in two pieces, but so far I'm very pleased with the chalk for indoor play.
