The manual sharpener works with the turn of your hand and opens from the bottom to clean out the excess.

Battery-operated sharpener uses four AA batteries (batteries not included) just peel the paper from the top of the crayon and sharpen.

I got the battery powered crayon sharpener. It is the best item I have purchased in years. I have nine children, five of them under 9 years old. We have to sharpen crayons daily, and now we can!!! Before, I was tempted to just buy new crayons every week, but this sharpener has saved the day!! Works easily, even my children can use it (with supervision). I love it!!!!! I bought a spare just in case!!

Brings new life to old crayons! This machine takes dull crayons and makes them have a factory point again. Just peel back the paper, insert crayon and a few seconds later you have a new tip on your crayon. A necessity for any classsroom!

This is a everyday luxury if you work with crayons (hard and soft). Several twists gives you the point needed.
