I'm using some old Roma non-sulfur clay, and it has become a bit hard from drying out in the air over a number of years. Is there any way to add oil to it with some heat and get it to become pliable again? - Asked by Billie L on 05-Feb-14
Answer
The manufacturer, Sculpture House, states that non-sulfur Plastilina is okay to heat in a microwave, but apply heat in small increments as microwave power levels vary. Other possible options for applying gradual heat include exposure to the sun, heat lamps, or a hair dryer. Avoid overheating and apply heat evenly. A few drops of household oil may also be added and kneaded into the clay. - Answered by MisterArt on 10-Feb-14Can this be spray painted? - Asked by Maggie on 25-Oct-13
Answer
You could spray paint it with acrylic. - Answered by MisterArt on 28-Oct-13Will the product stick to the outside of a pumpkin? - Asked by Maggie on 25-Oct-13
Answer
This is non-hardening sculpture clay, it will not stick. If you want it to stick, you need to use self-hardening clay. - Answered by MisterArt on 28-Oct-13Does the material need to be dipped into hot water to become soft enough to shape figures? - Asked by Elton Ko on 25-Sep-13
Answer
First, the clay needs to be worked a bit to become soft enough to sculpt. Then the warmth of your hands should be enough. You don't need to dip it in water. - Answered by MisterArt on 27-Sep-13Ask a Question About Roma Plastilina Modeling Material
