Roma is the world's finest modeling material that is permanently pliable and the choice of professional sculptors the world over. Available in four consistencies:

No. 1 Soft - Extremely pliable. use for making large sculptures. Easily scraped from molds.
No. 2 Medium - Generally used for portrait heads, busts, and figure work. Stronger than No. 1 but works smoothly and is the favored consistency.
No. 3 Medium Firm - A firmer grade used in making models of smaller objects.
No. 4 Extra Hard - Used in making extremely detailed objects like medallions.

The #4 is working great for medallion carvings I've been working on, and the #1 has been amazing for small sculptures and smaller pieces of jewelry. Beware if you need a clay for making RTV molds, this clay contains sulfer, and can't be used with liquid silicone! It will eat away at it (I learned this the hard way).

I love the Roma Plastilina and I really got a great deal on it here. I'm teaching a sculpture workshop this weekend and am using the #2 grey. I like the grey green color, because it doesn't show all the grub and dust that oil-based clay picks up. Also in our warmer weather, I like the #3 for keeping good detail.

I was originally introduced to Roma when sculpting at one of Chicago's largest children's theaters. I have used and requested it from that day on. Fantastic! The best oil based clay I have ever had the joy of using. We made intricate puppets to large set pieces and the large heads used by costume characters and mascots.

Roma is number 1 in my book for large sculpts. It has a perfectly smooth consistency for easing detailing and smoothing. It is oil based so you must use a cap material for casting in rubber.
