Each Bob Ross book is carefully detailed with step-by-step instructions and full color paintings, based on the PBS oil painting TV series, "The Joy of Painting". Discover the Joy of Painting, The Best of Joy of Painting, and The New Joy of Painting are authored by Annette Kowalski, and each contains sixty projects; several of these books include some of Kowalski's paintings in the Bob Ross style as well as Bob Ross originals. The numbered volumes contain an introduction that includes sections covering paints, mixing colors, palette, brushes, brush cleaning, palette knives, easels, canvas, and how-to-photos. In addition, instructions for completing thirteen paintings are included in each book.  Paintings included are as follows:
