I DYED A LIGHT TAN, VERY FADED LEATHER PURSE WITH THE DARK BROWN DYE AND IT LOOKS LIKE A NEW BAG. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT. EASY TO USE, FOOLPROOF RESULTS.

My use of the dyes was unconventional in that they were used to make Hawk and Eagle feathers for Order of the Arrow Woodland Indians Regalia. The USMC and Chocolate dyes were mixed to create the correct color for legal Eagle feathers, added to a small spray bottle and then sprayed on white turkey feathers (which had been shaped first) to get the correct effect. The dye is very potent and stains easily so I suggest using disposable gloves and working in a stainless steel sink (which can easily be cleaned with steel wool) when mixing and transferring the dyes. Also when using the dye to create the feathers use newspaper to protect your work surface and disposable gloves to protect your hands. The feathers were lightly sprayed using 2 to 3 coats (much like you use spray paint) allowing each coat to dry a few minutes in between applications. Under normal conditions the feathers were completely dry and ready for use in about 5 to 10 minutes. Any dye which does get on your skin should be cleaned immediately with alcohol (I’ve found the alcohol wipes seem to work the best). Of the various methods used to create legal Eagle feathers this was the best. The dyes worked fantastically. Other methods (such as using oil or acrylic paints) took much longer to dry and did not yield as nice of a result.
