I've been hunting for this for years. It makes the best glass bead reamer, removing the baked on clay in which the rod used in beadwork is dipped and dried. The clay forms a protective and insulating coat as the glass is melted and the rod turned in the flame, and prevents the glass from fusing to the metal rod. Although it also allows the bead to slip off the rod, after a good soak in water, it tends to stick to the glass, although the flame's heat isn't hot enough to properly create pottery. The reamers sold in glass supply places don't have the nice wood handle this does.
