Ask a Question
Can this product be applied over a painted surface and preserve the painting below? - Asked by james baker on 24-Apr-14
Answer
Typically gesso is applied first as a surface primer before painting. It contains particulates to create a tooth for media application to the prepared surface. As a clear gesso, the painting below stays visible and may be painted over. However, gesso is not intended to preserve a completed work. Liquitex Acrylic Varnish is designed to protect completed paintings. - Answered by MisterArt on 29-Apr-14Can acrylic gesso be used as a primer on a large, flat rock on which I want to paint? - Asked by John Dunning on 06-May-13
Answer
The Liquitex Acrylic Clear Gesso is ideal for use on canvas, paper, or wood. It is not meant for use on rocks. - Answered by MisterArt on 09-May-13Ask a Question About Acrylic Clear Gesso
