Bought mine in 1980 (when it was still called a Stanrite easel) and have used it for paintings as small as 9x12 and as large as 4x6 feet. It's a fine easel for relatively little money. Easily adjustable for height and angle, and stable while supporting large canvases. The empty area between the back supports is fine for storage.

this easel is a great one. it is very sturdy and adjustable, easy to use and made to last several lifetimes. the assembly instructions were a little sparse but with a little work you can figure them out.
