How can one revive Treasure Gold if it has dried?

- Asked by Linda on 08-Oct-12
Answer

Since these paints are waxed-based, they can not be revived easily. Paint thinner may work a little, but this is not guaranteed.

I received a pot of gold and one of silver in a "hand me down" box from a friend that included a variety of paints and other art treasures! So I do not know how old these products are. I tried the gold right away on an embossed piece I had laying around and was amazed at how beautiful it worked out. I have been using another gold product in the past, and it is no where near as beautiful as this. I am a believer, and will use Treasure gold forever!

I have used this product in past. Everything at my store was dried up. Returned for my money back...

I too got the silver, and it was dried up. I will not give up and try the gold, but very disappointed in the silver.

This is the same good product that formerly was in .5 oz jars. They have now not only increased the price per unit somewhat (which is to be expected), but they have cut the amount of the product to ONE FIFTH of what they gave you formerly for about the same price. NOW THAT'S A RIPOFF!!! NO other way to look at it!

The gold pots are absolutely wonderful! The silver and brass not so much...both pots I ordered of each were all dried up and unusable. And these were replacements for the original two pots I received that were ALSO all dried up!! Stay away from the silver and brass pots.

I purchased 12 pots. All except 2 were wonderful. All the gold pots were excellent, but one silver pot and the brass pot were all dried up and unusable.

I use this in all my wall art that I do. It adds that extra sophistication. I have used it for 15 years.

Great stuff! 1001 uses, works every time, easy to use, looks good, I highly recommend it.

This is a wonderful embellishment tool. I have more than one color, and I like them all.

I used these to highlight old fashioned looking ceiling tiles that are made of foam. I painted them to look like the real metal ones. Everyone that sees them are amazed when I tell them they are really foam. They look like the real thing and the plaid treasure gold added the perfect highlights to make them look real!

I was really glad to have found this product online at MisterArt.....I have used it for years on various projects and it is not available at stores in my area.

Extremely under-rated product. Spending even a little time doing test will show any artist of its many possibilities. I cant find it in my area and the prices here are the best I have found.
Rated by: Suzan T. in Riverside, CA
I love this product. It's so easy. I have accented so many things around my house. Try it on anything that is embossed. Really makes things stand out.
Rated by: Sr. Marie-Emmanuel L. in Puyallup, WA
In my opinion, this item is under-rated. It can accomplish effects that other gold paints can only imitate with difficulty. Of course, it is not gold leaf (nothing imitates that!) but, it even produces effects that are difficult to accomplish with leaf. For gold highlighting, there are jobs where I would use nothing else... and the selection of colors offered by MisterArt.com make color matching for restoration work much easier.
