Rapidograph Pen

by Rotring

Rotring has virtually revolutionized technical pens with Rotring Rapidograph. These technical pens are practically maintenance free and give more consistent reliable performance than other technical pens. The secret is a unique disposable cartridge. The cartridge acts as a storage area for ink and as the vent channel for the ink to be fed to the nib. Once the cartridge is finished you replace it with an entirely new venting system. This makes the Rotring Rapidograph the easiest, most reliable, refillable technical pen available today. Stainless Steel nibs.

These are the greatest pens I've ever found, with fine precision writing and virtually endless open-cap time these pens are perfect. Unlike Koh-I-Knoor these pens are maintenance free, and the easy refill cartridges allow for limitless writing with the same pen. (unless of course you break the nib)

Rotring Rapidographs are so easy to use and maintain, I bought three more after my initial purchase. I'm never using the old Rapidographs again!

A month ago I switched Rapidogrpah brands, and I have been so glad I did. Rotring pens truly do NOT clog. The .13 mm pen I began using one month ago, is still working with perfect flow! Wonderful, wonderful pens.

After the frustration and agony that my koh-i-noor rapidograph pens provided on a daily basis, I finally switched over to Rotring. I was a little skeptical at first, only because when my koh-i-noor pens actually worked they were the best things ever. Not anymore, though- I am a huge fan of these Rotring pens. I haven't had any clogs after using them for 2 months! They are so easy to use, and I am SO excited about the fact that I don't have to clean them out like I had to clean my old pens...and refilling the ink is much much easier! Thank you Mister Art! It's because of all the great reviews on these pens that I ended up purchasing them- they are well worth the investment.

This the first time I used Rotring and I must tell you I was very impressed. I have have been doing pen and ink drawing for many years. These pens are great. Try using a 06 from the other manufacturer and if it lasts more than 10 minutes I'll be surprised. Rotring made my day and my deadline.

These are the best pens that I've found for inking. I was kind of disappointed to find that the shaft is made out of plastic instead of metal, tho. It takes a while to get used to using them, too. Like it's not easy making arcs or circles. Also, I don't enjoy having to shake the pen back and forth every minute or so to keep the ink flowing. Other than that, it's the best thing I've found so far that's not messy...

Thanks for processing so promptly. In the world of CAD it is hard to find merchants who still carry the good old stuff.

I must have a thousand dollars worth of clogged, broken, bent, unusable, totally frustrating drafting pens in my drawer. This Rotring Rapidograph is the ONLY pen that works well, works reliably, doesn't clog, and makes me smile! Thanks, MisterArt.com, for carrying it. I haven't been able to find it in stores for two years now.
Rated by: ROB A. in CATHEDRAL CITY, CA
Service was very fine. The one problem was that one pen I ordered was supposed to be a size .13. It came as a larger size.

Good price. Timely arrival in good condition.

This pen is really nice. It hasn't clogged like the ones I used decades ago. I'm very pleased with it.

I've gone through 5 KOH-I-NOOR Rapidograph pens in less than 3 months!! I gave up and found ROTRING! It's the best thing ever. It hasn't clogged or died out on me yet! I've had it for a few weeks now and it's just the best thing ever!
Rated by: Patricia M. in Mankato, MN
These pens are wonderful and reliable. My .13 nib Koh-I-Noor Rapidograph required too much pampering, so I took a chance on the Rotring. Wow--what a difference! I'm now building a whole set of the Rotring.

This are by far the best technical pens Ive used.I like drawing very small illustrations in ink(5x7 or smaller) which means that I use the smallers points, .13mm(6x0)and.18mm(4x0) more frequently than any other sizes.I always had trouble with other brands(koh-i-noor rapidograpghs 3165,staedtler..etc)with this small points clogging up all the time, specially the .13mm(6x0)size,my favorite of all sizes for my style. Then I tried The rotring rapidograph model .13mm and .18mm point sizes and NO PROBLEM, DID NOT CLOG AT ALL! Even when I had the pens uncapped for several minutes! Something you can't do with Koh-I-Noor Rapidograph pens.If you like drawing in pen and ink and are serious about it,invest on Rotring Rapidograph pens.

The older model was an excellent pen but a pain in the butt to refill and clean and occasionally clogged, more than occasionally for the smallest points. These are still available. They are the white plastic model pens. The newer cartridge version, the burgundy plastic model, is so convenient to use it can be used as one's regular writing pen. It rarely clogs even for the smallest point size and it is relatively convenient to change the cartridge. The only superiority of the older white pens over the newer burgundy ones is that the cartridges for the newer pens come in only four colors black, blue, red, and brown. The white pens are refillable from little plastic bottles made by Rotring which come in a pallette of about thirty colors, some of which are really lovely.

These pens are available through my school (interior design student) which is how I learned of Rotring. Having used .18 through .50 widths, I can safely say that they are fabulous. The flow of ink is smooth and consistent, even if I go weeks between uses. My creativity for design does not translate into drawing ability; I'm not a natural artist nor do I know much about technique, but I've had no problems whatsoever with these pens. I'm glad I invested in Rotring, although MisterArt's prices certainly make the investment more affordable.

I use the .13, .18 and .35 Rotring pens and am so glad I have found this wonderful brand. I draw trees, highly detailed and very elaborate. I would not be able to do it without the wonderful pens by RapidoGraph. I went through THREE KOH-I-NOOR pens before finally realizing that the .13 mm Rapidograph was all I needed!

I bought the .13 model. i never could get the pen to work! would write for half an inch and die, then it would kick back in. maybe i am not familar with a "special" technique with these pens, but they are not worth the money. worst investment i have ever made!

Please do not listen to the last review of the Rotring technical pen series. I swear by this series of pens, having struggled for many years with the quirky behavior of the Koh-I-Noor series. Unlike the Koh-I-Noor, the Rotring uses cartridges; this means that dried ink does not form on the inside of the head, ink consistency is always the same (no need to wash the head and introduce water), and air pressure inside the pen always remains the same. I have gone through several Koh-I-Noor .13 pens -- I find these are the most difficult to rely upon because of the delicate amount of pressure required to create an ample flow of ink. I bought one Rotring .13 and I have been using the same one ever since with no interruption in performance. I believe that the reviewer before did not properly following the instructions regarding use of the pen. Please listen to me - especially if you have spent a long time and much money struggling with the Koh-I-Noor - and try the Rotring.

I needed a pen with a nib as fine as the 8/0 saw blade I use for intricate piercing of metal. Voilà! The Rotring 0.13 is EXACTLY what I was hoping to find. It is consistent -- which enables precise drawing and makes my piercing much more accurate.

great pen for all purposes, specially if you would like to make micro journals or notes, this refers to 0,25mm version.
Rated by: bonnie j. in little rock, ar, AR
An excellent pen, although Rapidograph made another with a disposable cartridge that included a new tip each refill. This is a 4+ but the other one was definitely a 10!

Rotring pens are the most reliable pens. They far outshine any other technical pen as I have tried them all!
