The directions say to apply several thin coats, but I was unable to do this without the brushstrokes showing. So I tried a thicker coat (you may even say i poured a pool of it), and it dried very evenly and completely clear. One thing to note is that since this is waterbased, thin coats don't adhere well to oilbased surface well (such as oil-based paint), so either clean the surface well if possible, or do what I did: apply 4 or so thin coats which will dry "spotty" due to the oily base, then apply a thick layer (or thin pool) on top. You'll get a smooth, glassy finish.

I use the gloss glaze over the perm enamel paints on glass bottles I paint. The gloss glaze works beautifully on the end result, easy use and no mess. If glass painting, don't waste your time with any other product.

I purchased the satin glaze to use for sealing a candle holder and a candle tray I painted for Christmas gifts. It went on smoothly, and didn't effect the basecoat's appearance at all. (Base was a satin as well).
