I would like to paint on a relief carving and allow the natural grain to show through subtly. Which fade resistant paint would you recommend? - Asked by Michael D on 21-May-14
Answer
Try mixing 1-Shot Lettering Enamel with 2 parts linseed oil and 1 part paint thinner to create a wood stain. 1-Shot Lettering Enamel is fade resistent itself, but Speed Dry UV Acrylic Clear may be added as a topcoat if additional protection is desired. - Answered by MisterArt on 23-May-14I'm adding lettering to a wall art project that has been treated with polyurethane. Will 1-Shot lettering enamel adhere? - Asked by Cyn B on 18-May-14

The surface of a polyurethane-coated wall is too smooth to properly adhere oil-based paint.
