Sta-Wet Painters Pal Palette

No more wasted paint... Masterson's patented process keeps acrylics and other waterbased paints moist on the open palette for hours. Once the lid is closed, the paints will stay in workable condition for days, even weeks. A wet sponge and special permeable palette paper provide the paint with a constant source of moisture. Paints will not dry out!

Simply soak the palette in water until it is fully saturated. Saturate the sponge and place it in the tray. Lay the palette paper on top of the sponge, wipe off excess water from the paper, and put your paints on the wet paper. The paints will slowly absorb moisture as needed without changing the consistency or color value. You can mix paints on the wet paper without tearing it.

Sta-Wet Painters Pal contains five sheets of Sta-Wet acrylic palette paper, cellulose sponge, palette tray and lid, five paint cups and detachable lids, one solvent cup with attached lid, storage area beneath removable cup holder tray, compete instructions for preparation and use. Overall container size is 13 in. x 12 in. x 1 1/2 in. Palette size is 9 in. x 12 in.

Storage cups fits inside Sta-Wet Painter's Pal for temporary paint storage or use separately for holding various craft items. 1 3/4 in. diameter x 1 in. depth; 3/4 oz. capacity.

Solvent cups fits inside Sta-Wet Painter's or use separately as dripless storage containers for turpentine, brush cleaner, extensors, and other liquid media. 1 1/2 in. diameter x 3/4 in. depth; 1/2 oz. capacity.

This item has been a lifesaver for me. It really works. Keeps paint moist for a long time. Top skin will still form if lid is not on & paint is left untouched or unmoistened for too long, but no getting around that with acrylics. Will actually keep paint moist overnight or for days with lid on. Palette & snap-tight lid are made of sturdy & durable material. My only complaint: "Storage cups" are just cheap condiment to go containers, lids & cups are very flimsy, but work ok if handled gently.

I choose to shop & buy my Sta-wet painters Pal Palette paper from Masterson because, it is a wonderful way to keep my acrylic paints from drying out. I can't always stay with a project in one sitting, if I need to mix several colors, & keep the mixes consistant throughout the project this is THE palette paper to use. It works great!

This palette sure does what it says! Paint stays usable for days on end. My only regret is that I didn't buy the larger size because I don't use the paint and solvent cups so that seems like a waste of space. I go to the restaurant supply store for small containers with lids (like the ones you get coleslaw in with fish and chips) and they're just as good at a fraction of the cost. Even so, I don't keep them in the palette, so having space for them doesn't work for me.

I bought a total of 11 of these because the people in my Art class seen mine and then they all wanted one. I have to be honest and add we are using ours for oils, this smaller size is so nice we just bought regular palette paper and put it in the holder and then I cover the paints with saran wrap and put on the lid. Nice knowing if we want to use it for acrylics we can though. I just love it.

Just love these palettes. This larger size has plenty of space to palette mix tube arylics or if you use "bottle" acrylics there is room to put out many colors at once. Paints stay fresh and moist. Saves time and money. Every artist should have one.

I've probably purchased every type palette at the art supply store trying to find one that would keep my paints damp and workable for a few days, I was always disappointed. When I found the Masterson series of paint palettes, my search ended. I have both the largest Masterson Sta-Wet Pro palette and now the Masterson Sta-Wet Painters Pal palette. Love them both, nothing can compare, absolutely nothing works as well. I have left paint in my Pro size Masterson for well over a month, no skimming over, no drying out, it's perfect. I love the size of the Painters Pal as a traveling palette as well as when I'm doing smaller projects with fewer colors. The cups keep my paint colors pure and I use the Painters Pal palette surface for mixing and blending my colors. The surface maintains perfect "dampness" for blending colors; even with small quantities of color on the palette surface, it doesn't dry out; I can pick up the blended color on my brush weeks later just as it was when I blended it. There is nothing on the market that comes close to the performance of this product. And Mister Art is absolutely the best in service and speed in filling my needs. Their prices on art supplies are better than I can find in my area--both Masterson's palettes and Mister Art are winners in my book.

When I bought this product, I was told it was suitable for oil paint, so I was excited to try it out since I can spend up to a month on a painting before it's finished. Not only did this not keep my paint wet overnight, it dried it out immediately upon contact. I had to remix the same color three times in a matter of 8 hours because the paper dried it out so quickly. I would NOT recommend this for fellow oil painters.

I am very satisfied with the Sta-Wet Painters Pal Palette. It kept my acrylics moist enough to paint with for over 2 weeks. However, I would advise reading the instructions carefully before using, as I was so excited to see how it performed I did wring out the sponge (which it tells you NOT to do), so it doesn't work as well as it did originally. I also let the paper dry completely without washing off the paint so I had to use another sheet. I don't blame the product-would still recommend to anyone.
