Acid-free. When the longevity of cotton fibers is not required, both intermediate and professional artists recommend the 400 Series Bristol. The slightly toothy texture of the vellum surface works well with pencil, charcoal and pastel. The smooth surface is ideal for detailed ink work and is also suited for pencil and marker. Both surfaces are excellent for airbrush. These are individual loose sheets, all 22 in. x 30 in., in three different weights or thicknesses.

At less than half the price of the 500 series, I found this paper very satisfactory for detailed pen and ink drawings. Will use again and often.

I draw comics for a living, and this is my paper of choice. It's almost as good as the 500 series, and WAY cheaper. I buy the large sheets, cut them to the size I need, and then print out guidelines on an A3 printer. Cheap and great!
