This economical heavyweight (100 lb.) paper is acid-free and available in a choice of two surfaces: smooth and vellum. Smooth is ideal for fine pen & ink, pencil, and mechanical drawing. Vellum has a slight "tooth" and is designed for a broad range of drawing and painting media including crayon, pencil, charcoal, watercolor, and gouache. Both surfaces are ideal for airbrush. 20 sheets per pad.

I've read the reviews, but I am still unsure which surface to buy for colored pencils (not watercolor pencils). Will this paper work?- Asked by Virginia C on 19-Jan-14
Of the Bristol options featured here, the vellum surface has more tooth for colored pencils while the smooth surface is best for ink and wet media. We also recommend the Strathmore 400 Series Heavyweight Drawing Paper which has a medium surface ideal for colored pencil results.- Answered by MisterArt on 21-Jan-14
