This is the best thing I have found to clean my brushes after doing my oil painting. It cleans them better and cleaner than any other product I have used . And my clean up time is easier and fast with it plus it is gentle on my hand and brushes.

Turpenoid Natural can be used as a very good conditioner for brushes. But it doesn’t work as a brush cleaner.

I enjoy stamping and card making. I had read that you could use turpenoid to blend your colors when using Prismacolor pencils. This product works great for blending.

I thought my dried oil brush were history, but several people in class said soaking them in this would make them new. Well, it did make the bristles clean, and some were recoverable to my delight. I bought the can to soak lots in. I would recommend doing this outside. it says nontoxic but i dont believe so..;)by the smell.

I love this stuff. It cleans without lots of smell and does a great job quick.

I've been using this for years as a brush restorer and it is remarkable for returning even heavily encrusted dried oil brushes to like new condition without burning the bristles. As another reviewer noted, it does have it's limitations as a medium -- it is so solvent that it will actually remove dried paint layers or lift color if applied to previous work.

I had to try this. I wasn't sure on how I'd like it...I am pleased, this product is respectable...and protects my health. Thanks for the alternative.

I am quite pleased with this natural alternitive. It brings your brushes back to their "new" feel.
Rated by: Beaman C. in Chester, NH
Well this product is not exactly what I thought. You can only thin oil paint with this up to 25%. In other words you can't exactly use this like turpentine or thinner to lay in a "imprimatura" on your canvas. For my use I wouldn't buy again.

This substance is a godsend. I have a two year old daughter who is a budding artist, who is also allowed fairly full access to my studio when I am there. I recently turned and caught her just in time to prevent her taking a big drink of mineral spirits. I would have been destroyed had she been injured. The mineral spirits are out - the Weber Turpenoid Natural is in. Its non-toxic, non-flammable, and does a far superior job of caring for brushes. She will never be taught that there is any other way to get oil paint out of her brushes.

I love to paint in oil, but worry about all the toxic solvents used. Turpenoid Natural works well to keep my brushes and hands clean without those concerns. It's more gentle than traditional mineral spirits and turpentine, so maybe not as effective on dried-on paint. But, by using it right away, I've been able to keep my brushes clean and supple.
