Rit Dye brightens and refines all decorating styles: country, traditional, and contemporary. Wake up and update accent pieces with exciting new touches of color. Available in 8 oz. liquid form, it works with most washable fabrics.

One bottle will color 2 lbs. of dry fabric. Use double the quantity of dye for dark or bright colors such as black, navy blue, cocoa brown, purple, scarlet, etc.

Use RIT Color Remover, in a 2 oz. box, before dying fabric to a lighter or different color.

Use the 8 oz. liqiud RIT Fixative to reduce the fabric's colors from fading.

Product Questions and Answers

How many bottles do I need to dye a slip cover colored off-white? It's a three-sweater couch.

- Asked by Lourdes Punzalan on 02-Jan-14

One bottle of dye will color two lbs. of dry fabric. Double the amount to create dark colors.

I want to dye something burgundy - what colors should I mix?

- Asked by Kaye Cosme on 11-Dec-13

Look at the color swatch for Wine as that is the best shade of burgundy. If you want it lighter, just use a bit more water than called for, and a little less set time. Do not mix with white as it will not come out the same base shade of burgundy. It will be more pink.

A very good product. I could not find these two colors in my local stores. Found it very easily online.

Rit makes the best dyes. They are easy to use and are the only dyes I would trust on my clothing. Be sure to run an empty cycle to clear all the dye from the washer.

After several failed attempts to purchase this dye locally and online, it was supplied by Mr. Art very quickly, and at a great price. The color isn't available everywhere (peach), and it is just what I wanted. I would definitely buy from Mr. Art again!

I love Rit!!! Was so glad to find colors that are not available in local stores. If it will stand still long enough, I will dye it. Clothes look expensive after a custom Rit job. Great fun, and for pennies. . .well, almost. Thank you for carrying Rit. Plan to order more asap. A Colorful Karacter

Need a lift for tired clothes? I have been using RIT dye for many years - and couldn't live without it to refresh tired colors and to change colors. Thank goodness for RIT - Me and my costuming thank you!!
Rated by: genevieve p. in colorado springs, CO
I always thought that boiling my clothes/fabric on the stove-top, using RIT dyes, was the most successful method. Recently, after studying the packaging, I found that my washer and HOT water were even more successful. Simple, easy, and fun!!! Change the color of that shirt or dress you just aren't wearing.
