The Monolith is a solid cylinder of graphite with a thin lacquer coating. Sharpened to a point, the pencil offers a greater drawing surface than the standard wood- cased variety and can be used in a variety of drawing applications. They are sold individually.

Being solid graphite, Cretacolor Monolith pencils offer an artist, illustrator, or doodler a wider variety of possible tip configurations to work with than wood-encased pencils. I love the way they feel in my hand. They make drawing even more fun. I find it hard to use my old wooden pencils after using these. If you're considering these, try one. You won't be sorry.
