Ask a Question

Do you sell oil-based clay that will not air dry?

- Asked by bobplutch@carsmetics.com on 12-Jun-14

Yes, we recommend Plastalina Modeling Clay by Van Aken. It remains pliable and plastic for repeated use - does not harden.

- Answered by MisterArt on 16-Jun-14

What is the best paint to use on Claystone once it hardens? I am looking for opacity mostly.

- Asked by L. G on 03-Dec-12

We suggest using the Adirondack Acrylic Paint Dabbers by Ranger or the Fusion Spray Paint for Plastic by Krylon.

This is the best way to sculpt and make a original. The Clay of Claystone dont need to be burned, just let it dry. If you didnt finished a piece, just put it in a plastic bag, sealed.

Is very pliable. Easy to sculpt with.

The clay was a bit dry and we had to use water to moisten it, but the children still enjoyed working with the clay. The clay dried up pretty quick and the day after the children had mold their fine art together they were able to paint their master piece. I highly recommend next time we purchase clay and do this same project again that we only purchase the gray clay, because this clay works much better when the children are trying to paint their master piece. With the red clay the children had to concisely paint over around four coats of paint to their masterpiece.

I'm very happy with this clay and the endless possibilities for its use. Not to mention the great service from this company. I'm one happy customer!

Excellent for children. Easy clean up and keeps them happy. First they mold then they can paint it. A great bargain!

The clay works very well but MUST be kept moist or it loses its elasticity very fast. It also helps to keep it thinner to avoid cracking while drying. Overall I like it and do intend to purchase more in the future.
