Finally, a pastel box made to fit handmade pastels! Brushed metal boxes with comfortable handles and secure clasps to ensure the case stays closed during transportation.

The Roz Box (pictured) comes with four pastel trays that can hold 34 pastels each (136 total). Each stackable tray features a center grip for easy pick up. Trays come equipped with foam inserts to keep pastels secure. Aluminum. Outer dimensions are 17 3/8 in. wide x14 3/4 in. deep x 2 3/4 in. high. Pastels not included. #400280

The Roz Box 2 is a smaller version of the popular original. This box comes with two pastel trays that can hold 34 pastels each (68 total). Trays come equipped with foam inserts to keep pastels secure. Aluminum. Outer dimensions are 17 3/8 in. wide x 7 3/4 in. deep x 2 3/4 in high. Pastels not included. #400282

The Pastel Organizer Trays are also sold separately. Each tray is made to fit into the Roz Boxes as well as the ArtBin Pastel 3 Box. Outer dimensions are 16 3/4 n. wide x 6 7/8 in. deep x 7/8 in. high. Slot dimensions are 7/8 in. w x 3 1/4 in. deep x 3/4 in. high. Pastels not included. #400281

I need to add to my original review. As stated the Roz Box is sturdy BUT it is also relatively heavy, good for storage and transport, but not recommended for field work.For that check out the Roz Bag.

Are there individual slots for each chalk?

Answer

Each tray holds up to 34 Unison Soft Pastels sticks, each measuring 2.875" long and 0.75" wide. The case measures 17 1/2" W × 7 1/2" H × 2 3/4" D when closed.

I was not expecting this to be as nice as it is. I expected a lightweight aluminum box. This is a heavy, sturdy box with reinforced corners and a secure handle. The trays are great with foam lined slots that take large pastels with ease. LOTS of room. Foam lining to protect the sticks from damage. Much, much better than I expected. At first I was going to order 4 of the tray inserts that are sold separately @$9.77 each but the shipping was $40.00. This was explained as the 4 trays were 4 items with shipping at @$10.00 each. It cost more for the shipping than each tray. The total price would have been more than the box just for 4 plastic trays. I am glad I decided to buy the box instead. Great product, highly recommended. As always, MisterArt.com shipping was fast and well packaged. I am pleased.

The Roz Box is great for me.I had about 6 boxes of hard and soft pastels and the only way that I could carry them was to stack all the boxes and put a rubber band around them and hope that they did not drop out.I can now carry all of the pastels in the Roz Box which is sturdy and the pastels are secure and covered.I had looked at several places to purchase the Roz Box and Mister art was the cheapest.
