escent Cold Press Illustration Boards possess textured surfaces that are perfect for working with drawing mediums that require some “tooth” to the surface, such as charcoal, crayon or pastel. They also work well for brush applications of watercolor or gouache where smooth blending of washes is required. The textured surfaces of the boards allows the medium to be applied without fast absorption.

No. 16 is white with a blue back, single thick, and professional grade.

No. 99 is white with a plain green back and is medium weight.

No. 100 has a high rag content surface and is heavy weight.

No. 110 has a 100% rag, acid free surface and is heavy weight.

No. 300 has a high rag content surface and is medium weight.

No. 310 has a 100% rag, acid free surface, medium texture, and is 14-ply.

I find that the product arrived very promply and is great. I have used Crescent board for many years and find it hard to obtain in my area, so by price and quality, you can't beat it!

The surface of the board is great! It is thinner than Bainbridge and curls some. I like the fact that it is square when Bainbridge doesn't seem to care about squareness.

I always order by the carton, as I am assured that there will be no finger prints or damage to the surfaces. I require an excellent quality surface before I spend the time to render my art, not to mention the archival properties. Art lasts as long as the quality of the support and preparation of your surfaces.

Wonderful medium to do pen and ink on! One of the keys for this illustration board is to get it unscratched/unbent/unfingerprinted, and MisterArt.com packaged it very well so it got to me in pristine condition. The boards at my local art store were in such bad condition, I couldn't even use them.

I bought the 201 Hotpress for a mat, of sorts, for an art class, and it was great. It is just kind of hard to cut with an xacto or utility knife.
