We are starting to make outdoor birdhouses and some of our plans call for thinner plywood. I'd like to know if this plywood can be used for that purpose? - Asked by Sheila McClurg on 06-Mar-14
Answer
Our thin birch plywood ranges in thickness from 1/64 in. to 1/4 in. It is commonly used for architectural models and other indoor crafts. This wood needs to be treated for outdoor projects. We have a Krylon Clear Wood Finish that helps to protect wood from the elements. - Answered by MisterArt on 10-Mar-14What is its density? - Asked by Keni on 25-Jan-14
Answer
Birchwood has an average density approximately .67g/cm3 and is a strong, durable wood. Each item specifies the thickness of the board as well as the dimensions. - Answered by MisterArt on 27-Jan-14Is this weather-resistant? - Asked by Bruce Gratz on 09-Dec-13
Answer
None of the wood we sell is weather-resistant as this is sold mainly for architectural model-making. I think the kind of wood you are looking for is more like what you'd find in a hardware store. - Answered by MisterArt on 10-Dec-13How many plies? - Asked by Mordehai Gheva on 10-Dec-12
Answer
The Thin Birch Plywood by Midwest item number #44226 would be considered an 8 to 8 1/2 ply. - Answered by MisterArt on 11-Dec-12Ask a Question About Thin Birch Plywood
