Well known for its superior quality is this traditional graphite pencil. Cedar wood casing guarantees utmost strength and easy sharpening. Range of 20 hardness/softness grades from 9B (softest) to 9H (hardest) covers the full spectrum of applications. Softer grades produce broader and darker strokes; harder grades produce more precise and lighter strokes. Cretacolor graphite pencils are good tools for all sketching, drawing, and hatching applications.

Sold in boxes of 12. Also available individually.

A fantastic value. Not as smooth as some higher-end graphite pencils, but they are definitely a great value. Highly recommended.

As drawing is the basis for success in painting, I feel the proper pencil is of utmost importance. I have looked for a long time for these pencils after being introduced to them by a fellow artist. Finally I found them at Misterart,com. I have encouraged my students to use them and the results are amazing. There is a clear difference in this product.

These pencils are great for the most part, especially if you're just starting out. They're not really smooth, but I've been able to overcome that.
