The New Derwent Pastel Pencils are designed with a contemporary and environmentally friendly matt red barrel with silver imprint and range stripe. They have a round 8.0 mm diameter barrel with a 4.0 mm core ideal for more detailed work. New improved formulation features include:

Softer texture that transfers colour to the paper quicker
Better blending
Better sharpening
Dusty, pastel feel
More balanced colour range

These pencils are harder than most pastels. They dig into the tooth of the paper and do not blend as well as typical pastel pencils. The colors are deeper.
