This is a flexible, durable, soft body paste for creating textured surfaces that can be painted over with oil or acrylic colors. It can be applied to a wide range of surfaces, including canvas, wood, cardboard, plaster, concrete, and masonry.

Grumbacher Modeling Paste can be modeled, shaped, or textured before hardening and cut, carved or sanded when thoroughly dry. It can also be mixed with acrylic colors for impasto effects. It thins with water and dries rapidly.

I purchased this for a craft use with brass stencils. It works wonderfully. I was able to paint over it once it dried with beautiful results.

I have used this product over tempered hardboard to create a paper like surface an when troweled on and sanded with a fine grit sandpaper it is amazing surface to paint on!

I've found this modeling paste to work pretty well. It seems to have a slightly slower drying time than others I have used. The texture is nice and smooth and spreads well with a palette knife.
