Product Questions and Answers

Can I put black acrylic paint in the glaze to make a black glaze?

- Asked by chris on 11-Oct-13

The Triple Thick Brush on Gloss Glaze is a protective top coat glaze used to give a fired-glaze finish. This is not recommended as a mixing medium for acrylic paint.

- Answered by MisterArt on 14-Oct-13

Is the Triple Thick Brush-on Gloss glaze "heat resistant"?

- Asked by Kris bierman on 09-Dec-12

The Triple Thick Brush-on Gloss Glaze by DecoArt is not heat resistant and should only be air-dried. You can use the Pure Brilliance Clear Glaze or the Clear Envision Glaze by Duncan for heat resistant glazes.

Works as promised

I do mosaics and frequently use bisque fired vintage tiles and broken china tiles. To prevent damage to the design on the tiles during the grouting proces, I initially apply a layer of this glaze to the tiles. It works great. I have also used this glaze on vintage/antique majolica tiles when the glaze is either really damaged or dull to rejuvenate the look. I don't like to alter antique tiles unless really necessary and this glaze just seems to do the trick without altering the integrity of the antique tiles.
