I sprayed this product lightly on a copper roof that was put up about 3 months ago. The next day most of it pealed off. Am I missing something? - Asked by STEVE on 16-Feb-13
Answer
If using Patina Blue directly on genuine copper, be certain that the metal surface is clean, including being free of paint, lacquer or varnish. Apply several light coats, or one heavier coat. Allow the oxidation to work its magic, oxidation can take up to 3 days. If the color you wanted develops earlier, clear coat when and as desired. - Answered by MisterArt on 21-Feb-13Can you use this on wood, and if so what kind of base paint do you use? - Asked by Debbie S on 01-Feb-13
Answer
The Sophisticated Finishes Patina Blue by Triangle Coatings is for use on metal surfaces. For a wood surface, we recommend using the Walnut Ink Antiquing Solution by Tsukineko or the Fantasy Prisme Effect Paint by Pebeo. - Answered by MisterArt on 05-Feb-13Will these products work on kitchen door knobs that are touched a lot? The knobs are brass and ceramic, and I would like to do it all in blackened bronze. - Asked by Susan on 09-Dec-12
Answer
The product will work only if the door knob is solid brass. If the surface is a combination of brass and ceramic, this product will not work - Answered by MisterArt on 11-Dec-12Ask a Question About Sophisticated Finishes Patina Blue
